AlphaDoc
US physicians whose NPI, medical licence and board certification HealthTrade has checked.
What AlphaDoc is
AlphaDoc is HealthTrade's network of US physicians. Each physician's NPI, medical licence and board certification are checked before they get the Verified AlphaDoc badge, which shows next to their name in Community and on expert opinion pieces.
The directory of verified physicians is part of the Pro, Elite and Enterprise plans, and verified physicians can see it too.
Consults are not open yet. AlphaDoc physician consults are not open yet. Paying physicians for consults is still being set up, so requests cannot be sent.
How verification works
NPI check. You enter your 10-digit National Provider Identifier. HealthTrade looks it up in the NPPES NPI Registry run by CMS: it must be an active NPI for an individual, and your legal name must match the record.
Licence and board certificate. You upload a copy of a state medical licence and of your board certificate, as PDF, PNG or JPEG files of up to 10 MB each. Only you and HealthTrade's admins can open them.
Disclosures. You describe conflicts of interest and industry relationships, and check your record in CMS Open Payments.
Review by a person. An admin compares your documents with the state medical board's licence lookup and with the certifying board before approving.
Regular re-checks. HealthTrade checks every verified NPI in NPPES again every 30 days.
The directory lists physicians alphabetically. HealthTrade does not rank physicians, and nothing on AlphaDoc is investment advice.
